I have been aligned with Lewis for over ten years since I arrived in Toronto as a school teacher, turning into an actress later in life, and I did not know how to navigate the business at all. I worked with Lewis to understand how to properly prepare for auditions, how to get my nerves under control, and how to really embrace who I was as a storyteller and an artist and to not shy away from that. Over the last ten years, Lewis has always been an integral part of my process. When I have a big audition that I’m preparing for or I’m filming a big role, I love to work with Lewis to make sure I’m not missing anything and to make sure that I’m sort of I’m exploring every part of the character that I can possibly find so that I can bring the most authentic performance to the screen. Lewis is amazing for that. He asks tough questions and always helps me dig deeper than I thought I could go. And I love that he is always serving the story and serving the character, and that’s the kind of coach I always want to work with.
I am a storyteller and an artist, and I want to honour my impulses and my truth and my heart. And Lewis does that. He coaches and works with actors so respectfully and collaboratively and it’s a really beautiful process. I worked with Lewis on my preparation for a movie that I shot called Nowhere to Be Found, which I recently won a Canadian Screen Award for. It was fantastic. Lewis, you’re amazing. I trust you. And thank you for being a cheerleader and for artists and and a friend and a mentor. Thank you for loving this business, as much as I do and for, helping me to never lose faith. Lots of love.
