Romy Weltman

ROMY WELTMAN is a young Canadian actress who has worked professionally since she was 12. Romy started her career with her first role on the SYFY series DEFIANCE, followed by playing the younger version of Emily Hampshire in her first Indie Horror Film, THE RETURNED. Since then, she has worked with award-winning talent, including James Caan, Mira Sorvino, Doris Roberts, Rose Byrne, Rachel McAdams and others on various productions.

Having a love for the Family and Disney Channel, Romy was beyond thrilled to have booked her first Series Regular as KIT DUNN on the Family Channel Original show BACKSTAGE. Romy had the pleasure of filming 60 episodes of BACKSTAGE, which ran for two full seasons on Family Channel in Canada and Disney Channel in the United States, United Kingdom, Australia and other countries worldwide. After working on BACKSTAGE for over two years, Romy worked with Family Channel on the first season of CREEPED OUT.

After having experience in the children’s entertainment industry, Romy continued establishing herself in her adult career. The transition began with a two-part season 12 finale on MURDOCH MYSTERIES (CBC), followed by episodes of SLASHER (Shudder/ Netflix), MRS. AMERICA (FX), GINNY & GEORGIA (Netflix) and films including THE RED MAPLE LEAF, THE PLOT TO KILL MY MOTHER (Lifetime) and TERROR TRAIN 1 & 2 (Tubi/ Crave Canada).

Most recently, Romy can be seen as LEXI, a recurring role on THE PRADEEPS OF PITTSBURGH, #1 Hit comedy on Amazon Prime Video. Romy can next be seen in a leading role on SYFY’s new series REVIVAL, based on the NY Times best-selling Image comic book.

When Romy is not in front of the camera, she can be found teaching and coaching at LB Acting Studio.
